Dock to Dinner Table
Bell Buoy in the News
As a coastal icon since 1946, Bell Buoy of Seaside's fish market has a history full of stories and treasured memories, including local and national news press, which we have gathered on this page to start our own digital historical museum.
One common thread running through the 76 years of history and stories, is that we have stayed true to our family-owned roots, always delivering fresh seafood direct from the boats.
Our customers say it best:
There was never a vacation at the Oregon coast where our family did not stop at Bell Buoy to purchase fish. In the 1950s my grandmother and mother carefully picked out crabs to crack. We spread newspaper out on the table at our vacation rental in Seaside, later at Cannon Beach, and cracked! We ate Crab Louis for years and years and years! Later our mother bought shrimp for salads.
When we became adults, we followed the same tradition of always stopping at Bell Buoy. We've added more shrimp and a crab to crack, smoked salmon for the cocktail hour, canned salmon to take home for the holidays, and this Christmas we even sent canned salmon to far away siblings.
The combination of the family history with Bell Buoy and all those delicious dinners is precious to me, all of my five siblings and the next generation of our family! -Carol, Portland, OR

WHAT PEOPLE SAY
Yelp Restaurant Review
The crab was cooked perfectly and the cheesy bread that came with it was ooey, gooey, cheesy heaven!
Google Review
Both the seafood shop and the restaurant are exceptional. The cold smoke salmon jerky is one of our favorite to go items. The restaurant has the best Halibut fish and chips on the coast. Bell Buoy is a gem on the coast!

Always fresh, always delicious, the razor clams were absolutely delicious. The selection and quick menu are perfect for a seafood market.
